Hira Kissana, MA, LMFT
Hira founded Sahih to formalize what she'd come to believe: that authentic therapy is the rule, not the exception — and that it begins long before the first session, in the careful work of matching you with someone whose heart is genuinely in the work.
Why Hira built Sahih
In her own clinical practice, the same sentence kept arriving in her consultation room: this is the first time I’ve felt that a therapist really cared. For many of these clients — people of color, children of immigrants, Muslim, multilingual, navigating layered identities — that recognition wasn’t a compliment. It was an indictment of how the field had failed to meet them. Hira founded Sahih to make genuine, identity-aware care the standard rather than the rare exception, to bring on therapists who share that standard, and to curate matches with the seriousness the work demands. Hira personally reviews every fit, and keeps looking until it’s right.
Clinical focus
Hira's clinical work concentrates on trauma reprocessing through EMDR, couples and family therapy, and the long work of becoming oneself inside families and cultures that ask a great deal. Hira sees many clients of color, first-generation Americans, and Muslim clients; when wanted, she integrates Islamic principles into sessions with care and clinical grounding. Therapy is curated for you to be the center of it.
How Hira works
EMDR for trauma reprocessing. Psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems for the relational and internal architecture. Somatic interventions to help the nervous system catch up with what the mind already knows. Narrative therapy for the inherited stories. Coping skills are useful; they are rarely the point. The point is the root.
The practice
Sahih is the practice Hira is building around these same principles — for the many people who deserve to feel, finally, that their therapist actually cares.
